for real though, i had to turn off icloud for my photos because i ran out of room on my laptop to update it 🫣 i think it’s worth it to have a log of all your cuties cookies though!

happy dental assistant week!! 🦷🪥 i had the honor of making these little cuties for @eagleviewdental • what better way to show your team you appreciate them than with cookies! thanks dr. brie for letting me be part of your celebrations this week! 🤍

story time: before i got into cookies, i was actually in school to become a dental hygienist. i’d finished all my generals and was just waiting to be accepted into the program. during that time i got a job at an oral surgery office in sterilization and quickly realized the teeth world wasn’t for me 😬 so major props to all my dental friends out there!!

a couple odd jobs later, and deciding i wanted to be my own boss, i kinda fell into cookie decorating after (poorly) decorating baby shower cookies for my bestie. the response was great (they were still tasty of course😋) so i started taking orders from friends and family to cover ingredients and get practice. so much love for everyone who ordered in those first few months because, not gonna lie, they were a little rough! now 2.5 years later, i get to proudly call cookie decorating my full-time job thanks to you!!

when you make royal icing, you start by beating the whole batch to stiff peaks, then thin it down from there depending on what each color will be used for

royal icing can be extremely finicky and things can go sideways fast • hence the reason most people use a spray bottle to control how much water they add!

for every color, i make two consistencies:
• piping: for outlining + fine details
• flooding: for filling in the cookie + those smooth, puffy details

it’s easily one of the most technical parts of decorating, but also one of the most satisfying when you get it just right!

i officially wrapped the largest order bakes & bites has ever taken on!!

a huge, huge thank you to @livinginmadisonre for trusting me with your client gifts this holiday season. i’m so grateful for people who believe in me and my business enough to put big projects like this in my hands.

and i’m not going to lie, this one tested me. there were multiple breakdowns last week when it felt like everything that could go wrong did go wrong (shoutout to joe for keeping me sane and helping me laugh through the craziness). it felt like my entire december was going to be consumed by sugar cookies and i’d never get to enjoy christmas for myself (we don’t even have our tree yet, which is wild because we’re normally day-after-thanksgiving people!).

but i did it!! over 1,000 cookies in 3 weeks (plus a couple custom orders, an event, and a holiday treat box exchange thrown in the mix). and they turned out so beautiful 🥲
